                      Rabbi Avi Miller


Assistant Rabbi

Rabbi Avi Miller is the Assistant Rabbi at Congregation Beth Sholom.  He previously served as the Rabbinic Assistant, and before then, as the Rabbinic Intern at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun.  Rabbi Miller earned his A.B in Philosophy from Princeton University and his M.A in Jewish Philosophy from the Bernard Revel Graduate School.  A Wexner Graduate Fellow, he received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University's Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS).   He is currently pursuing his PhD in Ancient Judaism/Rabbinics at New York University.  Since 2012, Rabbi Miller has also served as a member of the Judaic Studies faculty at  HAFTR High School, teaching Gemara and Tanach, and returning as a proud alumnus.  He lives in Lawrence, NY with his wife Sarah and his children Samson and Akiva.  Sarah is a certified pastry chef from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York and is pursuing her Masters in Nutrition from Columbia University.
