Since 2007, Michael Novick has served as the Executive Director of Congregation Beth Sholom. Over decades of professional non-profit work, he proudly served as Director of the American Society for Yad Vashem, Program Director of the American Zionist Federation, and Associate Director of the Hebrew Free Loan Society where he helped Russian immigrants resettle in NYC in the 1990's.
Michael lived in Israel for many years where he received a BA in Psychology and Education and an MA in Organizational Psychology, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He earned an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. His wife, Rona, is the Dean of the Azrieli School of Jewish Education and Administration at Yeshiva University. He has 3 wonderful sons, 3 amazing daughters in law and 5 delicious grandchildren.
Executive Assistant
Chaya Miller
Chaya Miller has been a member of the CBS staff since January 2012. Before coming to our Shul she was employed by Five Towns Community Chest for many years. Raised in Lakewood, New Jersey, she then attended Ohio University where she majored in Political Science. In 1978 Chaya attended Ohr Somayach for Women in Jerusalem. Chaya is blessed to have 5 sons, 3 daughters-in-law and 6 grandchildren
Chaya has had many opportunities to not only work for not-for- profit organizations, but to translate her skills and assist many Jewish & secular organizations as a volunteer member. She was honored by the Aliza Chapter of Amit and as a dedicated member of our CBS Staff was given a service award by our Sisterhood in 2019.
Being on the Council of JACS – a division of Jewish Board of Children and Family Services, she volunteered for Jewish retreats and was privileged to be chairwomen of “A Twerski Celebration” in honor of Rabbi, Dr. Abraham Twerski z’’l – 80th birthday.
Her gratitude and love for Congregation Beth Sholom is motivated by her perseverance and also from her motto…. “To be of love and service to H-shem and all his people”.
